Cornice was carefully cut around the beams to retain their character in this lovely country kitchen. Waverley Cream doors were fitted with basketweave handles and solid maple tops. The maple was set off with Zimbabwe Black granite upstands.
“It was important the kitchen felt like a “living” and integral part of out Grade 11 listed home which has lots of beams and antiques. That meant creating a usable living space.
We entertain and having a bespoke island was important. The fact that it moves when we want more space is an exceptional design idea. Pleasing features and design changes included the recycling point in the larder, and moving the sink to overlook my wildflower garden.”
The client chose a top of the range Franke sink with a Doric tap. The island was made in our own joinery shop to the customer’s specification.
